This website sets no cookies. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no third-party embeds that watch you. Nothing on this site needs your consent, which is why you were not asked for any.
Why there is no banner
Dutch law (Article 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet, implementing the ePrivacy Directive) requires consent before storing information on your device or reading what is already there, unless it is strictly necessary to deliver what you asked for. Most sites need that consent because they run analytics or advertising. We run neither, so there is nothing to ask about, and a banner asking for permission we do not need would be theatre.
What we do instead of analytics
We do not measure you. We look at our own server logs when something is broken, and at Google Search Console for our own pages, which tells us about search results and nothing about individual visitors. Neither involves storing anything on your device. The privacy policy covers what those logs contain and how long they live.
The one thing your browser does store
Nothing, from us. Your browser will cache pages, images and fonts from this site so it does not have to download them twice, which is ordinary caching, not a cookie, and it carries no identifier and tells us nothing. You can clear it whenever you like.
Links and forms that leave this site
Two places hand you to something else, and each is described in the privacy policy:
- The quote form. What you type is emailed to us. Filling it in stores nothing on your device.
- The newsletter form on the blog. Submitting it posts your address to our newsletter service, which may set a cookie of its own on its domain when it replies. That is described where it happens, and you only meet it if you subscribe.
Articles sometimes link to other websites. Once you follow one, that site's rules apply, and we have no say in what it stores.
If this ever changes
If we ever add something that needs consent, you will get a real choice before it runs, not a pre-ticked box, and this page will change first. Our build refuses to publish if a tracking script appears while this page still says there is none, so the two cannot drift apart.
